About HealthEx for Claude
HealthEx connects Claude to your health records, securely pulling data from all your care providers into one place. Ask Claude to summarize your health, understand lab results, help prep for your next doctor's visit, and guide your daily routine. With HealthEx’s tools for General Health Summary and data specific tools like Lab Results, Conditions, Medications and more, Claude can provide you with personalized health insights.

Eligibility: Claude Pro or Max users in the United States

What to expect during setup
Setup takes about 15 minutes. You'll need your phone, a valid US government ID, and login credentials for your health portals.
The process:
Verify your identity with CLEAR - One-time biometric verification to ensure only you can access your records
Consent to connect your records - Authorize HealthEx and Claude to access your data for up to 1 year
Log in to your health providers - Connect portals from automatically detected systems and add any others
We retrieve and prepare your records - This happens in the background and takes 10-30 minutes
You'll receive an email when your records are ready to use with Claude
Managing your connection
You have full control over your health data at all times.
Update your records
Get your most recent visits and test results anytime by visiting your HealthEx dashboard or asking Claude to check for updates.
Withdraw consent from HealthEx
Stop HealthEx from accessing your provider records by withdrawing consent in your HealthEx account settings.
Disconnect from Claude
Remove Claude's access to your HealthEx data by going to Settings > Connectors and disconnecting HealthEx.
Privacy and security
Your data is protected:
HealthEx follows the HIPAA privacy rule and is SOC2 compliant
HealthEx uses CLEAR to verify your identity, but doesn't share biometric data or ID information with Claude
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
Model training is turned off for any responses in Claude that use the HealthEx connector
Your health data won’t carry across conversations in Claude when using the HealthEx connector
How your data is used:
Claude only accesses the necessary data from HealthEx at the moment you ask a question
Personal health data is not used for AI training or development
HealthEx will never share or sell your data to third parties

What are health records?
Your health records are electronic files from past visits to doctors, hospitals, and clinics. They may include diagnoses, medications, allergies, test results, procedures, and other details about your care.
What information is included in my health records?
Your complete health records will be available, which can include:
Contact information: Details such as your name, phone number, email, and address
Demographics: Details such as your age, sex, race, and ethnicity
Medical history: Details such as your past visits, diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, allergies, immunizations, lab results, imaging, procedures, and clinical notes
Family and genetic information: Details such as your family history, social history, and genomic data
Sensitive information: May include details such as your HIV status, STIs, substance use, reproductive health, disabilities, and other protected health information
What types of data can HealthEx retrieve?
HealthEx retrieves the full USCDI v3 clinical dataset—problems, medications, allergies, labs, vitals, procedures, imaging, immunizations, encounters, notes, and more. Data comes from verified health records across EHR platforms including Epic, Athena, MEDITECH, eClinicalWorks, and others. All records are deduplicated, standardized, and minimized before use.
How long can my records be accessed for?
HealthEx can access your records for up to 1 year from the date you consent. Claude can access records for conversations while HealthEx is connected and while there is a valid consent. You can stop sharing your records with Claude at any time on HealthEx or by disconnecting the connector.
You’ll receive a copy of your records when they’re connected. You can access and save your records from the HealthEx portal as explained in our Privacy Policy and TEFCA Privacy and Security Notice
Will HealthEx update my records automatically?
No. Your records can change over time, like new medications, test results, or doctor visits, but HealthEx won't update them automatically. To keep things accurate, you can share your most recent records with Claude at any time on HealthEx.
Are there any fees?
No. Connecting your health records through HealthEx for Claude is currently free.
